Charitable Giving
Giving back to our community is at the core of our business! We are so fortunate to be able to give in support of the wonderful organizations, and so thankful there are so many doing such great work to enrich the lives of everyone in our community.
Each year, we receive hundreds of requests for a variety of initiatives, programs and events. While we are pleased that there are so many volunteers and organizations working to make a difference in our community, we are focused on those initiatives that align with our investment priorities:
In addition to fitting into these focuses, all organizations must:
- Apply online. We cannot answer requests mailed, phoned, emailed, or dropped off in store.
Types of Support that We Offer:
Give Back Events:
We work with your organization to develop a creative and fun event off-site or in-store and give back 10% of sales during that event. These opportunities fill up fast for the year, and constitute the majority of our charitable giving. This is a significantly larger donation and more effective way to generate community support than the Amazon Smile program. (It is also way more fun!)
Product Donations:
We will hook you up with a fun selection of toys and/or gift cards, ranging in value from $25 to $150 depending on the size of your event, the impact on the community, and our remaining charitable giving budget at the time of application.
Sponsorship or Ad Purchase:
We love to partner with community organizations to sponsor programs when the requests align with our giving priorities.
Guest Speaker/ Off-Site Games or Activity:
We can present to your group, club, or group, on a number of play-related topics, from corporate team-building, to cultivating compassion in young children. We will partner with you to develop a presentation or activity that meets your needs. We are also available to host off-site game nights and activities for community groups.
Other:
We welcome “outside the box” requests!
Organizations or programs that will not be considered for support:
- Individuals
- Social, athletic, veteran, labor fraternal organizations or religious groups, as such, but will consider programs that are documented to show they benefit the community as a whole.
- Organizations based outside northeast Florida/ southeast Georgia
- Political action groups, candidates or lobbying efforts
- Any program, initiative, or effort that might pose a possible conflict of interest or not align with the values of Villa Villekulla Neighborhood Toy Store.
Villa Villekulla Neighborhood Toy Store does not support organizations that have a policy of discriminating on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), sex, gender expression or transition, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, whether the discrimination policies are written or are in practice. Our policy is to not provide support to any organization that maintains such a policy.
